Unknown - Silence

Silence vibrating is Creation
Silence flowing is Love
Silence shared is Friendship
Silence seen is Infinity
Silence heard is the Name of God
Silence expressed is Beauty
Silence maintained is Strength
Silence omitted is Suffering
Silence experienced is Peace
Silence recorded is Sacred Scripture
Silence preserved is the Spiritual Path
Silence given is Grace
Silence received is Joy
Silence perceived is Wisdom
Silence stabilized is Realization
Silence alone IS

Note: This quote has been attributed to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and also to "A Canadian," as well as several other people. But, it appears that the original author is unknown.

Jeff Foster - The point of no return

You have to breathe in the stillness.
For the world is fast, and ends too soon, and you are so slow, and beautiful in your slowness.
The destination is no destination for you, and never was.
So recontact a moment.
Begin where you begin; here, at the point of emergence.
It's not just a cup of tea, a walk with a friend, words spoken or not spoken.
It's a love affair, the moments flowing into each other so completely
that there are no moments at all, only the shock and wonder of being alive, on this day of all days.
This chance to connect.
This ordinariness, embodied.
This unbearable freedom threatening to crack the earth open.
The softening of the heart.
The shadows and the light.
The fire and the ashes.
I will give up everything except the horizon,
this marvellous sense of moving forward whilst staying totally still.
And if I could I would render it all in the most delicate glass
and show it to this fast world.

Jack Kornfield - Gratitude

“Gratitude is the confidence in life itself…
As gratitude grows it gives rise to joy.
We experience the courage to rejoice in our own good fortune
and in the good fortune of others…
We can be joyful for people we love,
for moments of goodness, for sunlight and trees,
and for the very breath within our lungs.
Like an innocent child,
we can rejoice in life itself,
in being alive.”

Jack Kornfield “The Wise Heart”

Aldous Huxley - Love is its own eternity

“A mind that has come to the stillness of wisdom
shall know being,
shall know what it is to love.
Love is neither personal nor impersonal.
Love is love, not to be defined or described by the mind
as exclusive or inclusive.
Love is its own eternity; it is the real, the supreme,
the immeasurable.”

Wu Hsin - Background

“For movement to be perceived,
For change to be perceived,
Requires a changeless,
Unmoving, continuous background.
This is the truth of what one is;
The clear point, the non-dimensional
Source of all dimensions, onto which
All perception is displayed.”

Padmasambava - Awareness

And in the present moment, when (your mind) remains in its own condition without constructing anything, awareness, at that moment, in itself is quite ordinary. And when you look into yourself in this way nakedly (without any discursive thoughts), Since there is only this pure observing, there will be found a lucid clarity without anyone being there who is the observer; only a naked manifest awareness is present. (This awareness) is empty and immaculately pure, not being created by anything whatsoever. It is authentic and unadulterated, without any duality of clarity and emptiness.

Quote from Tibetan Book of the Dead (Liberation Through Hearing / Bardo Thodol). By Padmasambava, discovered by Karma Lingpa (12th century).

Jami - Here duality is impossible

Illuminated title and illustration for the first poem in the collection, Tuhfah ul Ahrar, “The Gift of the Noble”.

All that exists in the created universe is illusion, fantasy, reflections in mirrors, or shadows.
But the Sun of Guidance has dawned in the shadow of "Other than God",
so be not perplexed in the desert of error!
Who is man?
The reflection of the Eternal Light. What is the world? A wave on the Everlasting Sea.
How could the reflection be cut off from the Light? How could the wave be separate from the Sea?
Know that this reflection and this wave are that very Light and Sea,
for here duality is impossible, impossible.
Look at the travelers on the Path of Love, how each has a different spiritual state.
The one sees in each atom of the world a Sun radiant and imperishable,
Another directly witnesses in the mirror of existence the beauty of the hidden archetypes,
And a third sees each one in the other, without veiling or defect.

Diwaan-e-Mo'in - Ghazal 3

The fire of Your love has now set my heart in flames
All inward peace and stability have left me and now I'm ruined.

Your hands have inflicted wounds on each of my arteries
Is it strange if I now cry out for help because of Your hands?

Although my heart experiences the pain of the stick of affliction,
What can I do, but to endure patiently what happens to me now?

The King of love came and destroyed the city of my heart,
But now I discover that in every corner He placed hundreds of treasures.

The people have explained why this city has been destroyed,
But in fact instead of being destroyed it has now been revived.

For quite some time I was imprisoned by my selfish nature,
But a hand from the unseen has come to free me now of my chains.

The Cupbearer of the divine banquet has opened the door of the tavern.
Just now He gave me a hundred thousand cups from His wine'vault.

After the unveiling of the glorious face of my Cupbearer
My present state of existence has been shaken from its foundation.

Mo'in has drunk so many cups of that pure wine,
Yet even now his search will not stop.

Mooji - Natural perfume of Being

Recognise the natural silence of your own Self.
Silence is not a behavior.
Silence is not a practice.
It is the natural perfume of being.
Trying to be still is not stillness.
Find that stillness inside, which simply Is.
There is no one to practice it.
It can only be recognised.
It is here.
It is not hiding.
It is not hurried.
Simply stop identifying with the past, future, present
or with any self-image.
Be open to being nothing.
No thing. So that internally you are simply like a space.
But this is not an inert space, but a space full of aliveness.
Still, don't define yourself as aliveness.
Don't define yourself at all.
Simply remain in natural Self-awareness.

Maren Springsteen - Pointers from the Stars

The only thing real
about all that I see
is All-luminous Self,
in 'time' hiding as 'else.'

Pure Consciousness is simply what IS
and always already abiding as THIS.
One heavenly canvas,
refreshingly alive -
sparkling brightly as glorious Light.

When perfect peace seems somehow disturbed,
Pure Being never once is perturbed.
Don't look at what appears to be causing pain,
no, quickly reel that shadow in again!

Ask: to whom to these arisings occur?
and feel the entire witness disappear -
See it for the objectified ignorance it is,
and that denial in or of itself cannot exist.

Pure Awareness only prior to any 'sense'
that untouched Presence generously lends.
The observer thus dissolved into thin air,
Joyous Wonder covers 'everywhere.'

All illusion now completely left
and with it any seeming effect.
Shadows cannot continue to fight
where all that remains is eternal Light.

One Cause now that is Its Own Effect
not capable of straying from Stillness' Rest.
Not even that is ultimately true,
for there to be power,
it needs to have two.

At least to human concepts
that like to make sense
of what ignorant nonsense pretends.

Gentle no-power, spacious and clear
remains as All Awareness here,
until then,
invite All to return
into the Heart of their
beautiful Origin.

Nisargadatta Maharaj - Seeing God

“When you see the world you see God.
There is no seeing God apart from the world.
Beyond the world to see God is to be God.”
