 "The natural state is not the state of a self-realized God-realized man, it is not a thing to be achieved or attained, it is not a thing to be willed into existence; it is there -- it is the living state. This state is just the functional activity of life. By 'life' I do not mean something abstract; it is the life of the senses, functioning naturally without the interference of thought. *Thought is an interloper, which thrusts itself into the affairs of the senses. It has a profit motive: thought directs the activity of the senses to get something out of them, and uses them to give continuity to itself.
 
This state is a state of not knowing; you really don't know what you are looking at. I may look at the clock on the wall for half an hour -- still I do not read the time. I don't know it is a clock. All there is inside is wonderment: "What is this that I am looking at?" Not that the question actually phrases itself like that in words: the whole of my being is like a single, big question mark. It is a state of wonder, of wondering, because I just do not know what I am looking at. The knowledge about it -- all that I have learned -- is held in the background unless there is a demand. It is in the 'declutched state'. If you ask the time, I will say "It's a quarter past three" or whatever -- it comes quickly like an arrow -- then I am back in the state of not knowing, of wonder.

You can never understand the tremendous peace that is always there within you, that is your natural state. Your trying to create a peaceful state of mind is in fact creating disturbance within you. You can only talk of peace, create a state of mind and say to yourself that you are very peaceful -- but that is not peace; that is violence. So there is no use in practicing peace, there is no reason to practice silence. Real silence is explosive; it is not the dead state of mind that spiritual seekers think. "Oh, I am at peace with myself! There is silence, a tremendous silence! I experience silence!" -- that doesn't mean anything at all. *This is volcanic in its nature: it's bubbling all the time -- the energy, the life -- that is its quality. You may ask how I know. I don't know. Life is aware of itself, if we can put it that way -- it is conscious of itself. "

the luminous skin of love dance

not the hold our breath and wallow in the shallow end of the floor dance
but the meeting of the trinity: the body, breath & beat dance

the mother may I?

in the cathedral of flesh
to burn back into the light
to unravel, to play, to fly, to pray

 When the mystery of realizing that the mystic is one
with the Divine—is revealed to you, you will understand
that you are no other than God and that you have continued
and will continue … without when and without times.
Then you will see all your actions to be His actions and all
your attributes to be His attributes7 and your essence to be
His essence, though you do not thereby become He or He
you, in either the greatest or the least degree. “Everything
is perishing save His Face,” that is, there is nothing except
His Face, “then, whithersoever you turn, there is the Face

Nancy Neithercut ~ Dream like and realer than real

 

There is a common misconception that enlightenment happens to the person
And somehow this imaginary character becomes a no self
And obviously anyone who thinks that they are enlightened also believes that there was a path or method that they used to get there or to attain that
Where there's nothing to attain and no one to get it
People long to escape their humanness.
As you grow up you learn morals you learn what to be like how to act in society these morals generally coming from some religion
originating from some God or giant authority keep the society together
And one of the first ones they try to teach you how to try to be selfless
So they tell you to give some of your candy to Marianne
And Marianne is happy to get it and your parents or caregivers are happy that you've done it and so you feel good so this seemingly selfless act actually was very selfish wasn't it
Lol
So the goal of many of these religions and societies is to become a selfless person
That sounds good to so many because they can't stand this pain that they feel
the loneliness they feel inside
they have been taught that anger and jealousy are bad
so they are trying to have only nice happy thoughts and nice happy emotions and act selflessly
but this simply cannot be done
And it is quite understandable that some people would be trying to erase or change thought and emotion in order to feel better
However I do not think that unless someone has heard of it they would be trying to get rid of the self
So there are people who claim they have reached this rarefied atmosphere
And often they are revered and people imitate their actions and speech
And they give instructions on how to reach this unreachable place
And seekers love this stuff because it gives them a path and it solidifies the Believe in self
Which they are
The belief in separation is never challenged
So they may say things like do nothing or rest as awareness
All perpetuating the most painful illusion of separation
of a doer and something to attain
Doing nothing is doing something
All trying or trying to not try perpetuate the illusion of someone who is trying
How can you rest as awareness?
awareness is always bright and unhindered .....spontaneously indivisibly awareness and perception arise and simultaneously self release without time or non time
Without any effort or non effort
And as these people are revered and given a lot of flattery it often goes to their head
And the authority hierarchy power driven cult is born
I knew one woman who said that there's nothing that you can do or not do a few years later she was giving instructions
I do not know what Adya was like at first but he tells people to drop the story obviously not realizing that there is no one who can do or not do anything and that they exist only as a story
And many teachers seem have just to settled into a self-help program
Awakening is realizing there never was a self or mountain
No one to have or lose a self
And yet realizing that this dream of you and me and we is the only place we exist
And love
And beauty
And wonder
It's simultaneously dream like and realer than real
More vibrant and lush when there is no hope or fear or need of a non existent next
It never feels like there is someone doing life or that life is happening to a someone.
