Jiddu Krishnamurti - From darkness to light

Neither time...

Neither time nor space exists for the man who knows the eternal.
Space and time are real for the man who is yet imperfect
and space is divided for him into dimensions,
time into past, present and future.
He looks behind him and sees his birth, his acquisitions,
all that he has rejected.
That past is being continually modified by the future
which is ever being added to it.
From the past man turns his eyes to the future where death,
the unknown, the darkness, the mystery, await him.
Fascinated by these he can no longer detach himself from them.
The mystery of the future holds for him the fulfillment of all his desires,
which the past has denied to him, and in his dreams he flies
to that brilliant horizon where happiness must exist,
where he must seek it.
No one will ever pierce the infinite mystery of the future
- impenetrable in its evanescent illusion
- neither magician, prophet nor God!
But on the contrary it will be the mystery which will engulf man,
which will not let him escape, which will break the mainspring of his life.
Life is not to be approached through the past, nor through the mirage of the future.
Life cannot be approached through intermediaries, nor conquered for another.
That discovery can only be made in the immediate present
- by the individual for himself and not for others
- by the individual who has become the eternal "I".
That eternal "I" is created by the perfection of the self
- perfection in which all things are contained, even human imperfections.
Man, not yet having achieved that condition of life in the present,
lives in the past which he regrets,
lives in the future where he hopes,
but never in the present which he ignores.
This is the case with all men.
Balanced between the past and the future,
the "I" is poised as a tiger ready to spring, as an eagle ready to fly,
as the bow at the moment of releasing the arrow.
This moment of equilibrium, of high tension, is "creation."
It is the fullness of all life, it is immortality.
The wind of the desert sweeps away all trace of the traveller.
The sole imprint is the footstep of the present.
The past, the future...
sands blown by the wind.

Wahiduddin - The Immensity of Your Love

In a moment of time
when the time is right
the Buddha will awaken
the Light of Muhammad will shine
the Christ will arise
the eternal Self will be unleashed
they are already within your heart
waiting to be set free
day after day
satisfied with dissatisfaction
but one day
in a moment of time
a moment of truth
a day of reckoning
you will discover
the immensity of your love

Baha'u'llah - One same substance

"O Children of Men!
Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust?
That no one should exalt himself over the other.
Ponder at all times in your hearts how ye were created.
Since We have created you all from one same substance
it is incumbent on you to be even as one soul,
to walk with the same feet, eat with the same mouth and dwell in the same land,
that from your inmost being, by your deeds and actions,
the signs of oneness and the essence of detachment may be made manifest.
Such is My counsel to you, O concourse of light!
Heed ye this counsel that ye may obtain the fruit of holiness
from the tree of wondrous glory."

Robert Sardello - Silence

pics from "Ashes & Snow" film

"Silence was here before anything else, and it envelops everything else. It is the most primary phenomenon of existence, both palpably something and seemingly nothing. Silence is prior to sound, not the cessation of sound. It is already present. If we drop into quietness for just a moment, we feel the presence of Silence as an invitation...

As we enter the mystery of Silence, its presence resonates throughout the fibers of our flesh, while extending beyond the flesh to the soul inwardly and to the cosmos outwardly. Our body’s center is the necessary meeting point where the inward silence of solitude meets up with the great Silence of Cosmic Wisdom. When we do not cultivate this meeting point in the right ways, we lose access to our soul, to the presence of the Silence, and to our individual place in the Wisdom of the World. Without Silence, we are lost and cannot get still enough to find our way back.
Silence bears the wholeness we keep looking for while we do not know exactly what we are looking for. It is around us and within us. It goes to the deepest depths of the soul and to the outermost reaches of the cosmos and continually unites the two at the centering place of our heart.

Mirabai - The Beloved Comes Home

The one I longed for has come home;
The raging fire of separation is quenched.
Now I rejoice with Him, I sing in bliss.

The peacocks at the cloud's roar
Dance with unbound joy;
I rejoice in ecstasy
At the sight of my Beloved.

I am absorbed in His love;
My misery of wandering
In the world has ended.
The lily bursts into bloom
At the sight of the full moon;
Seeing Him, my heart blossoms in joy.
Peace permeates this body of mine;
His arrival has filled my home with bliss.

That very Lord has become my own
Who is ever the redeemer of His devotees.
Mira's heart, scorched by the blaze of separation,
Has become cool and refreshed;
The pain of duality has vanished.

Dariya - Nothing to worry about

You have nothing to worry about.
Be free from worries,
And remain immersed in love for the Beloved.
He shall take you across the ocean of the world,
If you seek support of his boat sailing in this ocean.

No amulet, charm, yogic practice
or other holy repetition is of any avail.
Only he provides the technique which destroys sins,
and removes vices from the heart.

By seeing and reflecting within your heart,
     says Daria,
You will be freed from all ills
Just by kindling the wick of Nam
     with the Satguru's lamp.

Μystic Μeandering - The Heart's Longing...

It is your destiny to be Love…
The only “purpose” is to BE – Love.
 Rest in Sacred Silence
where the ripples of luminescent Love
form and expand…
It is already there in your Heart ~
in the core of your Being.
Love is your sanctuary.
The longing of the Heart
 is there to
 draw
you
 in
.
.
.

It’s the longing of the Heart for that which is
 True,
Pure, Innocent, Whole,
and Alive
within
 you

It’s the longing for the Embrace of
”The Beloved.”

And…
It’s the call of “The Beloved;”
the pull of the Heart.

Follow the call…

The longing is your Innocence;
an innocent longing
 for The Mystery
of Divine Embrace.
Let that innocent longing carry you...

Come Home

Be at Home
In the Heart of “The Beloved.”
You are held there - deep within
the Divine Heart…

Thrive in that Embrace.

That is Home…

That is Love…

Adyashanti - Jump

"If you prefer smoke over fire
then get up now and leave.
For I do not intend to perfume
your mind’s clothing
with more sooty knowledge.
No, I have something else in mind.

Today I hold a flame in my left hand
and a sword in my right.
There will be no damage control today.

For God is in a mood
to plunder your riches and
fling you nakedly
into such breathtaking poverty
that all that will be left of you
will be a tendency to shine.

So don’t just sit around this flame
choking on your mind.
For this is no campfire song
to mindlessly mantra yourself to sleep with.

Jump now into the space
between thoughts
and exit this dream
before I burn the damn place down.”

"
— Adyashanti-My Secret is Silence

Chuang Tzu - Content with not-knowing

She lets the confused stay confused
if that is what they want
and is always available
to those with a passion for the truth.

In the welter of opinions,
she is content with not-knowing.
She makes distinctions
but doesn't take them seriously.

She sees the world constantly breaking
apart, and stays centered in the whole.
She sees the world endlessly changing
and never wants it to be
different from what it is.

Mary Stevenson - Footprints In The Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.
