Chuck Surface - Beyond Reckoning

Beyond Reckoning

In nirvikalpa samadhi,
In unmanifest Pure Being,
There is no here or there.
Immaculate Perfection.
Ecstasy.

But here, in manifestation,
All manner of imperfection exists,
Within, and without!
Here, there is most definitely…
Here and there.

Ah… but of course…
It's not that simple!

For here, in manifestation,
In the locus of the Heart,
Impossibly,
Pure Being Shines,
The most impossible paradox,
And there is neither here nor there…
here!
Immaculate Imperfection,
Bliss.

Depending on where Attentions stands,
It will speak thus, or thus,
Absolutely, or relatively,
From enlightenment, or ignorance,
Perfection, or imperfection,
Nondual… or dual.

In the land of True and False,
This is true, and that is false.
In Pure Being,
Neither true nor false,
Ever existed.

Here…
Because formlessness shines into form,
And the Absolute floods the relative,
Through the locus of the Heart,
Both are true, at once!
And neither!

I am everything.
I am nothing.
I am both,
And neither.

Had enough, Dear Mind?
Good.
Thank you, my weary Friend.
Take rest now…

In the Heart.

Jean Klein - An open door.

[We free ourselves] By awareness, free from all reference to the past, free from bodily or psychological habits, free from choice and repetition. It is a door open to spontaneous understanding and having nothing to do with mental activity. Instantaneous total vision consumes error. The energy which previously constituted the error shitfs away from it and integrates with truth that is being. The ego striving to survive either clings on to its accumulated memories, or projects desires into the future, thus using up a considerabhle amount of energy.

Rumi - from Divani Shams

O Friend! we are near you in friendship,
Wherever you set foot, we prostrate ourselves like earth.
How is it permissible, in the religion of love,
That we should see your Creation and neglect to see You?

    That Friend brought me up with great care and attention;
He sewed me a garment from skin and veins.
The body is like a cloak and my heart in it like a mystic,
The world is like a monastery and He is my Guide.

    Seek knowledge which unravels mysteries
Before your life comes to close
Give up that non-existence which looks like existence,
Seek that Existence which looks like non-existence!

There is a world outside Islam and Disbelief,
We are enamoured of the atmosphere therein.
The mystic lays down his head when he reaches there.
There is neither Islam nor Disbelief in this place.

    Whenever I prostrate my head He is the one to whom I bow;
In six directions or outside the six, he is the one I worship.
The garden, the rose, the nightingale, music and the beauteous maiden
Are a mere excuse and He alone is the real object.

Ryokan - "Clear and transparent.”

 “When all thoughts
Are exhausted
I slip into the woods
And gather
A pile of shepherd’s purse.

Like the little stream
Making its way
Through the mossy crevices
I, too, quietly
Turn clear and transparent."

Meister Eckhart - "Expands His Being"

Expands His Being

All beings
are words of God,
His music, His
art.

Sacred books we are, for the infinite camps  in our  souls.

Every act reveals God and expands His being.
I know that may be hard
to comprehend.

All creatures are doing their best
to help God in His birth
of Himself.

Enough talk for the night.
He is laboring in me;

I need to be silent
for a while,

worlds are forming
in my heart.
